Ingredients
2 bags (10 oz each) Mini Marshmallows (about 6 cups total)
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
2 bags (12 oz each) White Chocolate Chips (about 3 cups total)
1 ½ cups Red & Green Gumdrops, roughly chopped
Note for Dietary Needs: For a vegetarian or vegan version, ensure you use plant-based marshmallows, as standard ones contain gelatin.
Instructions
Step 1: Create the Nougat Base
In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the mini marshmallows and melted butter.
Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, pausing to stir every 30 seconds, until the marshmallows are completely melted, puffy, and smooth.
Step 2: Incorporate White Chocolate
Immediately add the white chocolate chips to the hot marshmallow mixture.
Stir vigorously until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth and uniform. If needed, you can return the bowl to the microwave for 15-second bursts to fully melt the chocolate.
Step 3: Add Festive Color
Let the mixture cool for 2-3 minutes, then fold in the chopped gumdrops until they are evenly distributed.
Step 4: Set and Slice
Press the mixture firmly into a 9x9 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper.
Let the bars set at room temperature for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
Once set, lift the slab out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into individual bars.
