Sausage-Stuffed Puff Pastry Recipe


 Flaky, golden  puff pastry filled with savory  sausage and melted  cheese—perfect for parties or a tasty snack!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground sausage (mild, spicy, or breakfast-style)

  • ½ cup (120g) cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup (60g) shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 package (2 sheets) puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Optional garnish: Chopped fresh parsley or chives

    Instructions:

    1. Cook the Sausage:

      • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.

    2. Make the Filling:

      • In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese. Mix until smooth and well blended.

    3. Prepare the Pastry:

      • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

      • On a lightly floured surface, roll out each puff pastry sheet and cut into 6–8 squares (adjust size as desired).

    4. Assemble the Pastries:

      • Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each square.

      • Fold into triangles or crescents, sealing edges by pressing with a fork or fingers.

    5. Bake to Perfection:

      • Arrange pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

      • Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.

      • Bake for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

    6. Serve & Enjoy:

      • Garnish with herbs if desired. Serve warm for the best flavor!

    Tips:

    • For extra flavor, add ½ tsp garlic powder or diced jalapeños to the filling.

    • Freeze unbaked pastries and bake straight from frozen (add 3–5 extra minutes).
