Ingredients:
1½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
¾ cup granulated sugar
½ cup vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)
2 large eggs
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cloves
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat & Prepare:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together applesauce, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Combine Wet & Dry:
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined (do not overmix).
Bake:
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve:
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Slice once completely cooled.
Tips:
For extra texture, add ½ cup chopped nuts or raisins.
Substitute brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
Brush with melted butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar for a sweet crust.
