‘Winter Comfort Bowl’—Just 5 ingredients. I make this every December because it’s impossibly easy and always comforting.

Creamy Holiday Fettuccine

There's something truly special about sharing a warm, comforting meal with loved ones during the holidays. This creamy fettuccine is that perfect, effortless dish that feels both luxurious and wonderfully simple. With just five key ingredients, it’s easy to prepare, leaving you more time to enjoy the company around the table.

A Perfect Holiday Pairing

For a complete and beautiful meal, serve this pasta alongside a crisp green salad or a tray of roasted seasonal vegetables like Brussels sprouts or carrots. A loaf of crusty bread is essential for savoring every bit of the creamy sauce, and a glass of chilled white wine adds a touch of elegance for the adults.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta:

  • Cook the fettuccine in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain well and set aside.

2. Create the Sauce:

  • In your slow cooker, combine the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and unsalted butter.

3. Melt and Combine:

  • Cover and set the slow cooker to LOW. Heat for 1 to 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the butter has melted and the sauce is smooth and heated through.

4. Combine and Serve:

  • Add the cooked, drained fettuccine to the slow cooker with the creamy sauce. Gently toss until every strand is evenly coated.

  • Season generously with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately for the best, creamiest texture.

Variations & Tips

  • Add Protein: Stir in cooked, shredded chicken or sautéed shrimp for a heartier main course.

  • Boost Veggies: For added color and nutrition, fold in a couple of handfuls of fresh spinach or ½ cup of thawed frozen peas during the last few minutes in the slow cooker, just until wilted.

  • Elevate the Flavor: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice or a pinch of nutmeg can brighten and deepen the sauce beautifully.

  • A Touch of Heat: For those who enjoy a little spice, a dash of red pepper flakes is the perfect finish.
